COME! ~ all ye who wrestle with the times we live in ….

Join us to be stirred, shaken, engaged, listened to and more as we bring to life “12 Characters in Search of an Apocalypse” by Andrew Boyd published in issue 11 of ‘The Dark Mountain Project’ and first performed in Portsmouth October 17th, 2017.

Starting with the question: “Is Climate Change Real?” these 12 characters offer their own complex perspectives on living today, what they see coming towards them, and what they are (or aren’t) doing about it.

Using the words of these characters as a seed for our own conversation we will have a chance to engage and explore our own complicated relationships with the questions that arise because of the unravelling of the living systems that support all life.

Format

We will begin promptly at 19.15 pm with the reading of the 12 monologues. The readings take about an hour with brief interludes for discussion. Our time afterwards is for an open conversation to explore the affects these changes are having on ourselves, our families and our communities.

Arrival

Please arrive between 18:30 and 19:00 to get refreshments and settle to enable a prompt start at 19:15

Cost

Offered in service – please support the café by purchasing refreshments. Any donations for fuel costs or to support further gatherings welcome.

What to bring

A willingness to be moved by what you hear and to share your own thoughts vulnerably.
