Upcoming:

GSE has been funded by Erasmus+ and by Emergence Foundation to begin work on our latest initiative: “Villagemaking in Troubled Times“. Our upcoming event is entitled “In This Great Turning” and will take place in Denmark between 25 October and 1 November, 2019.

Who we are and what we do

The impetus to create Giraffe Social Enterprises (GSE)  came from a deep wish to create opportunities for engagement, collaboration and connection for anyone sharing or engaging with nonviolence particularly through the work of Marshall Rosenberg PhD and his offering of Nonviolent Communication (NVC)

NVC begins by assuming that we all share the same, basic human needs.  In particular NVC focuses on how language and communication can support connecting and compassionate communication, and offers a ‘roadmap’ for clear, honest expression as well as for deep listening to another.

GSE operates as a Community Interest Company (company no. 08013799) committed to being a platform from which we can explore working alongside each other and ways of supporting each other in our endeavours to share NVC  and Restorative Systems in the world.  It specifically aims to offer a base for creativity, support and networking; a ‘hub’ for events, courses, workshops, funding opportunities and initiatives and any other such offerings for the co-creation of community, learning, mutual support and healing within nonviolent principles.

GSE serves individuals, communities and organisations of all ages, backgrounds or financial means, who wish to learn and contribute to nonviolence primarily through the principles and heart of Nonviolent Communication and Restorative Process.

Intentions:

  • to initiate, create, offer and support events and NVC/RC related activities
  • to encourage and support connection and contribution across all ages
  • to invite and support NVC/RC facilitators of all experiences to collaborate and contribute to sharing events and to act as a platform for sharing information
  • to seek funding and to fund ‘outreach’ work where possible that directly contributes to supporting nonviolent principles within the wider community
